New York's First Snow
For 101 Ways to Say I Love You #51 "You're cold, take my jacket."
Lucifer was never much for the snow or the cold. It wasn't that it effected him exactly, but he felt it and didn't like it. Sun, warmth and rain was more his style. Still, when Tony pestered him to attend some fancy party he couldn't resist, especially knowing that in Tony's world he wouldn't be such an eyesore. Aliens and supernatural were visible. They did share a good laugh the night before over people thinking Lucifer was a superhero. It would be a first for sure.
He stepped into Tony's universe as a lady, tall and elegant in a red dress that fit in all the right places on its way down to her ankles. Her wings delicately tucked at her back while frowning up at the huge snowflakes falling from the New York sky. She shook her wings, ruffling the feathers, to brush off the accumulating snow. She had not been to this New York City and stood on the sidewalk to get her bearings, looking for landmarks that existed here and in her own New York City, or any of the others she had travelled to recently.
'Hot wings? Is that you?” Tony's voice caused her to smile before she turned in place to see the engineer coming across the busy street.
She brushed the snow from her bear shoulders for appearance sake rather than any need. Tony was in a black suit and matching wool overcoat. The look suited his features and sense of confidence, or at least Lucifer thought it did.
People were staring now. Tony was known and the winged woman he was approaching dropped a few jaws. There'd be explaining now that she had reached out and took his hand when the human was close enough for affectionate contact. Stark looked her over but his expression was partially masked by dark sunglasses, leaving the devil to wonder what was on his mind.
The angel watched his hand slip away before he started to remove his coat. Lucifer didn't follow until the human instinct to wrap it around her shoulders stalled out when confronted by the four huge wings. Lucifer started to giggle, high, feminine and clearly amused and flattered by the gesture.
“There is no need though I am touched by your concern.” She stroked his arm and saw him shiver as the cold wind whipped between the buildings.
“Hey..uh--- are you cold?” He was looking between the coat, her pale, bare shoulders and the crowd gathering to take pictures.
Another giggle escaped and the devil covered her mouth with a hand, though the flush of pink on her cheeks betrayed the continued amusement. “Tony, darling.”
She leaned in and kissed his cheek. “I am made of fire.... but you are shivering in the cold.” Her wings came out to shield her lover from the wind, warmth flushing through the under-feathers to radiate heat. “Let me warm you.”
Tony's expression turned sly when he picked up on the innuendo in Lucifer's tone. She slid a hand around his back at the waist, wings still blocking the cold and the prying eyes.
“Right, you're going to warm me up here on the sidewalk?” His charm was coming on full in his mischievousness.
“Later.” She whispered whiles straitening the hairs by his ear, now out of place from the wind. “First, you owe me a party and you promised me a dance.”
She winked and stepped up beside him. Social cues had the man come in close to take her arm on instinct so they could cross the street.
“You're going to give them a heart attack, hot wings.” He mentioned playfully as they walked through the automatic doors and inside.
“I did charm the great Tony Stark. Would they not be fools to assume anything less than a divine beauty?” Lucifer forced her haughtiness to the point Tony burst into laughter from how ridiculous it sounded. This party was going to be nothing short of trouble with the two of them already in this mood before they even walked in the door.
